FAQ

We invite you to spend some time exploring the biographies of our team’s counsellors. These biographies offer valuable insights into their experience, areas of specialization, and overall approach, enabling you to make an informed decision about the counsellor who may be the best fit for you. Additionally, it is important to consider their availability when making your selection.

If you find yourself unsure about which counsellor to choose or would like assistance in finding the one who is best suited to your specific needs, please don’t hesitate to fill out our contact form, call us at 778.200.8908 or email us at [email protected]. Our dedicated team is here to provide guidance and support, as we strive to help you find the counsellor who aligns with and understands your unique requirements.

We are committed to ensuring that you receive the most beneficial counselling experience possible, and we look forward to assisting you in your search for a counsellor who is the perfect match for you.

The privacy and confidentiality of our services are of utmost importance to us. As professional members of the BCACC (British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors), we strictly adhere to their Code of Ethics and Standards of Clinical Practice. This means that your personal information and all communication between you and your counsellor will be kept confidential.

However, it is essential to be aware that there are certain exceptions to confidentiality. These exceptions include situations where there is a clear risk of harm to yourself or others, when there is a reasonable belief that a child or vulnerable adult requires protection from abuse, or when a court-of-law issues a subpoena for our records as part of legal proceedings.

To ensure transparency and understanding, before we begin counselling, we will review and discuss the Service Agreement and Informed Consent document together. This will clarify the extent of confidentiality and address any concerns or questions you may have about how your information will be handled.

Please rest assured that our commitment to confidentiality is taken seriously, and we are here to provide a safe and secure environment for your counselling journey.

You do not need a referral to schedule an appointment with us. Whether you are interested in a complimentary 15-minute client intake consultation or wish to book an appointment, there are a few convenient ways to reach us.

You can use our contact form, call us at 778.200.8908, or email us at [email protected]. Additionally, you can use our “Book Now” button to set up an appointment at your convenience.

We look forward to hearing from you and assisting you on your journey towards personal growth and well-being.

In many cases, extended health benefit plans cover counselling services provided by a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). To determine the coverage details specific to your plan, we recommend reaching out to your HR department, benefits coordinator, or extended health carrier. They will be able to provide you with accurate information regarding your plan’s coverage and any yearly maximums that may apply.

We strive to make the process as convenient as possible for our clients. We bill clients directly for our services and provide an official receipt that contains all the necessary information for you to submit to your insurance provider. This ensures a smooth reimbursement process and allows you to easily access the benefits you are entitled to.

We currently do not offer direct billing services. However, we strive to make the reimbursement process as straightforward as possible for our clients. Following your session, you will receive a detailed receipt via email. This receipt contains all the necessary information required for you to submit a claim to your insurance company for reimbursement, according to the terms and conditions of your insurance provider.

If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, we kindly request that you contact us by phone or email to reschedule with at least 48 hours’ notice.

It’s important to note that missed sessions, without prior notification of at least 48 hours, will be billed at the full cost of the scheduled appointment. Please be aware that fees for missed sessions are typically not covered by extended health benefit plans. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

We are committed to being a long-term resource for our clients, providing therapy for as long as it is beneficial and supportive for you. Our goal is to create a safe and compassionate space where you can explore and navigate life’s challenges.

In the initial stages of therapy, we recommend scheduling sessions either weekly or every two weeks for the first 6-8 sessions. This consistent frequency allows us to maintain momentum and make the maximum impact during this crucial phase. After this initial period, we may reassess together and consider spacing out sessions less frequently, based on your progress and needs.

Throughout our work together, we will continually assess and adapt the frequency of sessions to ensure that we are effectively addressing your goals and providing the support you require. Our priority is to provide ongoing care and guidance as you navigate your personal journey.

Our standard appointments are 50 minutes in length, providing a focused and meaningful counselling session. For clients seeking longer sessions, we offer extended appointment options through our online booking system. When scheduling in advance, your therapist can accommodate and arrange for longer sessions to meet your specific needs and goals.

Please note that longer sessions allow for more in-depth exploration and discussion, providing an opportunity for clients to delve deeper into their concerns. This option is available to ensure sufficient time for effective communication and progress during the session.

To book a longer session or discuss your specific requirements, we encourage you to reach out to your therapist directly or use our online booking system to secure an extended appointment.

As a new client, we offer you different options to book an appointment with us:
